The Path That Remains by Abdulrahman Ghalayini

The Path That Remains

Photography · 90 x 60 (unframed) · 200

The Path That Remains explores memory, belonging, and the enduring relationship between people and place. A solitary translucent form stands within an embroidered terrain illuminated by a narrow passage of warm light. Around it, much of the landscape recedes into darkness. With longer viewing, faint geological traces begin to emerge from that darkness, creating a second layer of territory that is initially almost invisible. The work considers how home can persist beyond geography - through paths, traditions, materials, and memories carried forward over time. Rather than depicting Lebanon literally, the photograph approaches place through cultural memory and the tension between what remains visible and what survives just beneath perception.
