This drawing was created after a harsh, painful, and angry time in my life. I lost my pregnancy, and during that period, I found myself unable to talk or express what I was going through. All I wanted was to be alone and draw to convey everything I felt. The cracked belly symbolizes something starting to break, representing the loss and devastation I felt. The lilies in the image are meant to represent a funeral, a farewell to the life that was never able to fully bloom. The blue flowers, known as "forget-me-nots," symbolize the loss of the fetus, a reminder of what I had to let go. The crossed feet depict a protective gesture, as though trying to close in and hold on to the fetus, not wanting to let go. The head tilted upward is meant to express the immense pain and sorrow that weighed on me during that time. This piece of art reflects the emotional turmoil I was going through, where words fell short but my art spoke volumes.
