“Veil of Silence 3” is a charcoal artwork that explores the tension between presence and absence. The subject’s face emerges only in fragments: lips defined with delicate highlights, hair illuminated in sharp strokes, and a faint contour of the nose. The rest dissolves into blackness, erasing the eyes and much of the identity. This use of chiaroscuro transforms light into a language of concealment and revelation, creating an emotional atmosphere of introspection, melancholy, and secrecy.
